Tidal Wave?

Lincoln Diaz-Balart & Mario Diaz-Blart

For the past year, the Florida Whig Party has been harsh on the Democrat and Republican Parties in the State of Florida over the backroom deals as to who should and who should not be slotted to run for election. Both Parties have done this for years. Regardless of an open primary system, the Parties are structured to support the anointed candidate. This, more than any other reason, is why the Florida Whig Party has also been highly critical of Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer. The close and cozy relationship Greer has with part-time Governor (full-time U.S. Senate Candidate) Charles Crist, has, is, and continues to simply be a breach of his fiduciary duties. After a border-to-border and coast-to-coast ruckus among Republicans, the Crist-Greer Dynasty is about to end. Calls for Greer to resign are mounting and the polling numbers for Crist are falling like the real estate prices.

Today we can announce the fist of the final nails in the Crist-Greer coffin. Republican brothers and United States Representatives from Miami, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Dias-Balart pulled their endorsement of Charles Crist for the Senate, dealing significant blow to winning the South Florida Hispanic vote. There is an absolute need and role for political parties; however, there is no need for a political party that seeks to wheel and deal behind the scenes, in the back rooms of government, and in the dark rather than in the sunshine where We the People can fully participate. The two major parties will never stop their smug behavior until the duopoly is broken with a trilogy. With three major parties the duopoly of the never ending duel ends and is replaced with a mutual tolerance and compromise by the very nature of shared power. The nation was founded upon the idea of shared power (executive, legislative, and judicial) and constituencies (nation, states, people) and it's time we have a three party system to maintain check and balance as it was intended.

The Florida Whig Party commends its candidates who understand this, and as Florida Whig Congressional Candidate Paul McKain puts it: "PRINCIPLES ABOVE PARTY".

Beware Die-Hard Democrats and Republicans: The nation isn't buying what you are selling anymore. We're tired of the games, deals, and hypocritical behavior. And as far as the Whigs, well boys and girls, we're back;, we're growing and We Are the Party for We the People.

Think About It
