Welcome Professor Wendell Griffith
Whig Coalition Leader

The Florida Whig Party welcomes Professor Wendell Griffith of Northwest Florida State College. Professor Griffith teaches American and European history and is known for his notorious “Constitution Test”. As a United States Marine in the 1970s, Wendell served as an Embassy Marine at Leningrad, USSR, followed by Caracas, Venezuela, and then in Madrid, Spain during the conclusion of the Franco regime. This experience demonstrated firsthand the deficits of socialism and deeply rooted Wendell’s appreciation of capitalism and republicanism. During the 1990s Professor Griffith served on the Okaloosa County Republican Executive Committee and as President of the Republican Club of Okaloosa County. In 2009, Professor Griffith changed his voter registration to the Florida Whig Party, became a Coalition Leader, and immediately began organizing and holding meetings across the Panhandle with a wide range of Whigs. Wendell frequently leads public workshops on the United States Constitution, of which he is considered an expert, and in January 2010 will conduct a series of workshops regarding health care reform across the state.

What others have said about Professor Griffith:

I changed my major to History thanks to this gentleman. This man is extremely witty and you will learn more from his lectures than you ever will from a text book. He genuinely enjoys what he does. I don't think the tests are unreasonable as long as you take detailed notes. That is the key to getting an "A" in his classes.

The best history instructor on campus! If you pay attention and take GOOD notes, you will do well. His tests are challenging but not impossible. Classroom discussion is often lively and always interesting. I give my highest reccomendation.

One of the most amazing instructors the campus has to offer. He takes time out for his students, is dedicated to helping you achieve good grades in the class, and also dedicated to making sure the information gets accross correctly. Tests are hard, but that's why you study.

Mr. Griffith is my favorite American History teacher. I enjoyed every single class I had with him last year, and there was never a dull moment. He knows exactly what he is talking about. I learned so much in his class, and would definitely love to have another class with him.

He is seriously the coolest teacher ever. He mostly lectures off the top of his head, which shows that he knows exactly what he's talking about and we hardly ever use the textbook. The tests are hard if you don't review your notes. There's a lot of work, but if you put in effort, you'll succeed.

Absolutely loved him. even though his tests were pretty hard if you didn't study, the tests were exactly on what he lectured. i would take him for every one of my classes if i could. he's funny!!
